Okay...so I'm going to post the potential letter here. Please edit so that we can send it out tomorrow! I realize that is is very time sensitive.
We are writing on behalf of the Vermont Sustainable Heating Initiative (VSHI), the group of students with whom you spoke on Friday, February 8th. We represent a political force of hundreds of high schoolers across the state. In our meeting, we spoke of the transition to a sustainable energy future that would ease the drain on our economy and keep the cost of living down. We would like to transition Vermont away from foreign fossil fuels, beginning with using locally produced biomass as a home heating source. We believe that this project could have a multibillion dollar effect on the Vermont economy. We would love to meet with you to discuss this further. Therefore we are inviting you and your energy experts to dinner at a restaurant in the area convenient for you. (We would be happy to meet in Middlebury). We would love to engage in a constructive dialogue in order to collaborate on this effort.
We realize that you have a demanding schedule, but we are able to meet with you as soon as you are available.
Hoping to hear from you soon,
Christi Kroll, Anne Watson, Jessie-Ruth Corkins, Galen Helms, Samuel Bevet, Courtney Devoid, Lucia Bragg, Yuki Davis, and Thomas Dickerson
I made some changes to the letter, let me know if they are acceptable. (I need a better word than "requirements" in the last sentence of the main paragraph). Should we invite the Lt. Gov. as well?
-Galen
If "collaborate on this effort" doesn't sound right to you we can further change it. Christi, when did you want to send this out? Today I assume? -Anne
Christi, this looks good. Go ahead and put in the names of key players, we know they're on board. You've got my go ahead! :)
*deeeeeep breathe * - Anne

If anyone's name is left off, I'm sorry!!! Feel free to let us know, and we'll try to get it on there before we send it.
