What we're about:

This is a Rallying Cry for Vermont high schoolers to unite and March on Montpelier next month and demand a Carbon Neutral Future for Vermont!

Vermont has the capability to grow all of its fuel for home heating and some commercial heating. We need to switch to local resources as oil prices go up and oil reserves deplete. Vermonters are paying between $3 and $4 dollars a gallon for fuel, and more and more Vermonters are struggling to make ends meet and pay their bills to keep their heat on during our frosty winter this year.

If Vermont farmers grew our fuel for heating this could have a multi-billion dollar affect on the VT economy!

By growing our own fuel, we don't mean corn or even wood. We mean prairie grasses such as Switchgrass & Giant Miscanthus. Japanese Knotweed and Jerusalem Artichoke also yield a lot of energy for their size and already grow wild in Vermont.
